LAS VEGAS — In a tragic incident, a woman in her 30s lost her life after being struck and killed by a driver suspected of DUI and speeding in North Las Vegas. The fatal car accident occurred around 8 p.m. on Monday, on Las Vegas Boulevard south of Belmont Street.
North Las Vegas police reported that the woman was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision. Despite being rushed to UMC Trauma, she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Hyundai Sonata involved in the accident has been identified as 63-year-old Timmy Cormier. Court documents reveal that he is facing charges of DUI, speeding, and possessing a firearm while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Cormier was subsequently booked into the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center.
The identity of the deceased woman has not yet been released, pending notification of her next of kin by the Clark County Coroner’s office.
