Two young lives were tragically cut short in a devastating wrong-way collision near Boulder City, instigated by a suspected impaired driver, as reported by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol (NSP).
The fatal accident occurred on I-11 near mile marker 6, roughly eight miles from Boulder City, around 2:20 p.m. last Saturday.
The collision involved two vehicles that collided head-on while traveling in opposite directions. Virginia Whiting, a 19-year-old resident of Glendale, AZ, and Antonio Aguilera, 21, from Phoenix, AZ, were the victims of this grievous incident.
According to the Clark County Coroner’s office, both suffered blunt force injuries and were pronounced dead shortly after.
The driver responsible for the wrong-way travel sustained minor injuries and was subsequently transported to a local hospital.
