LAS VEGAS — An early morning accident in the eastern valley has left one person in critical condition following a collision involving a Hummer. At approximately 3:19 a.m. on Thursday, a serious crash occurred on South Nellis Boulevard, north of Boulder Highway.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a 2007 Hummer H3 was traveling northbound on Nellis Boulevard behind another vehicle. The vehicle in front made an abrupt lane change to avoid a pedestrian who was standing on the road. Unfortunately, the Hummer driver was unable to react in time and struck the pedestrian.
Emergency medical personnel quickly responded to the scene and transported the injured pedestrian to the Trauma Unit at Sunrise Hospital, where they are reported to be in critical condition.
The driver of the Hummer remained at the accident site and, according to police, showed no signs of impairment. The circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation.
