Motorcycle Accidents More Information
Motorcyclists and passengers in Nevada are required to wear helmets that meet standards set by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Nevada transfers motorcycle endorsements and Class M licenses from most other states and issues a Class M driver license for motorcycles. More information on the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles website.
Motorcycle insurance laws in Nevada are the same as those for cars or standard passenger vehicles (i.e., “motor vehicles”).
Finally, the same rules of personal injury torts apply to motorcycle accident cases.
Of course special circumstances may require the driver of larger motor vehicles to further decrease speed and look out for motorcyclists in order to avoid potentially substantial and life threatening injuries to motorcyclists on the road. See NRS484B.603.
