LAS VEGAS. (FOX5) – Henderson Police reported a tragic incident where a 15-year-old girl lost her life in a crash on February 26. The fatal collision occurred around 4:30 p.m. near Via Da Vinci Avenue and Rivoli Street, close to Via Inspirada and Bicentennial Parkway.
According to authorities, a gray SUV was traveling westbound on Via Da Vinci when it collided with a pedestrian riding a motorized scooter outside of a designated crosswalk. The injured pedestrian, identified as 15-year-old Madilyn Peterson, was promptly transported to a nearby hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to blunt force injuries. The Clark County Coroner’s Office has officially ruled her death as accidental.
This tragic incident marks the seventh traffic-related fatality for Henderson in 2024. Preliminary investigations conducted by Henderson Police have excluded speed and impairment as contributing factors in the crash. The focus now shifts to understanding the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event and highlighting the importance of pedestrian safety.
