In a tragic car accident in Las Vegas on February 21, two individuals are now in custody after a collision claimed the life of a passenger. The incident occurred around 1:41 a.m. at the intersection of E. Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Bermuda Road. A 2022 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2023 Mazda MX5 were reportedly speeding eastbound on Silverado Ranch when they collided, causing both vehicles to lose control.
The Camaro spun out, entering westbound traffic and crashing into a retaining wall, while the Mazda struck a light pole and tree on its passenger side. Regrettably, a passenger in the Mazda sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene in a car accident in Las Vegas.
Jonathan Gallagher, the 24-year-old driver of the Camaro, showed no signs of impairment. However, the other motorist, 26-year-old Melissa Dettlaff, displayed signs of intoxication. Both drivers were subsequently arrested and charged in connection with the deadly collision.
