(KSNV) — A fatal car accident in North Las Vegas has led to the arrest of a driver who allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian. According to the North Las Vegas Police Department, the collision occurred on N. Fifth Street near Brooks Avenue shortly before midnight on Saturday morning.
Investigators revealed that a 2019 Dodge Charger traveling southbound on N. Fifth Street struck a woman in her 30s who was lying in the road for reasons yet unknown, resulting in the tragic car accident. The driver, later identified as 24-year-old Donald Boike, reportedly continued driving until stopping near Carey Avenue. Authorities suspect speed played a role in the collision.
Upon locating the Charger on Carey Avenue, law enforcement noted extensive front-end damage. Boike was subsequently arrested and taken to the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center, facing charges including failing to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death and failure to render aid.
The identity of the deceased pedestrian, along with the circumstances surrounding her death, will be disclosed by the Clark County Coroner’s Office at a later time.
