(FOX5) – A tragic road accident in Las Vegas has claimed the life of a 64-year-old man. The incident occurred on Sunday night when the pedestrian was struck by a car while attempting to cross Paradise Road, just north of East Harmon Avenue.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the collision took place around 8:42 p.m. Preliminary investigations revealed that a dark blue 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe was exiting a private drive onto Paradise Road when the pedestrian attempted to run across the street.
Tragically, the front of the Chevrolet Tahoe collided with the pedestrian, causing him to be thrown onto the roadway. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the victim was promptly transported to Sunrise Hospital’s Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries. However, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries, marking a devastating loss.
Authorities have confirmed that the collision is currently under thorough investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section. While details surrounding the incident are still being scrutinized, this unfortunate event serves as a stark reminder of the dangers pedestrians face on the roads.
